Freelance Data Scientist – Industry-Leading Financial Organisation (Hybrid, Brussels)

We’re partnering with a market-leading financial institution in Belgium that’s driving digital transformation through data and AI. They’re now looking for a Freelance Data Scientist to strengthen their analytics capabilities and shape data-driven decision-making across the business.

This is a chance to contribute to a major financial organisation where your work will directly influence strategy, customer experience, and risk management - while collaborating with talented data professionals in a forward-thinking environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Build, test, and deploy machine learning models that deliver measurable business value across financial products and services.
• Work with structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends, detect anomalies, and drive predictive insights.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define analytical solutions and automate processes.
• Develop end-to-end data science workflows - from data preparation and feature engineering to deployment.
• Present results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, helping translate insights into action.

Tech Stack & Tools

You’ll work in a modern analytics environment leveraging:

Python, R, SQL, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a strong advantage.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ experience as a Data Scientist.
• Solid background in statistical analysis, predictive modelling, and data storytelling.
• Proven experience working with financial data or within a financial services environment is highly desirable.
• Fluent in English, with French or Dutch preferred.
• Eligible to work in Belgium on a freelance/contract basis.

• Location: Brussels (2 days/week on-site, 3 days remote)
