Our client Icelandair and their Digital Operations team ensures the reliability, security, and performance of the technology that keeps their airline moving. You will optimize systems, protect critical operations, and continuously seek opportunities for improvement.

We are now looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join their team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the availability, security, and performance of their Oracle databases, while also supporting other platforms. You’ll design, configure, and monitor databases to balance backend efficiency with smooth access for end-users.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Take operational responsibility for Oracle databases and related platforms.
  • Design and implement high-availability, high-performance, and cost-efficient solutions.
  • Manage database backup and recovery strategies, including high-speed transaction recovery.
  • Perform regular testing and evaluations to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
  • Monitor performance, tune configurations, and apply patches and upgrades when needed.
  • Provide support for Microsoft SQL databases as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server – a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of database security, integrity, and SQL.
  • Excellent English proficiency (written and spoken).
