About the Role:

Outokumpu is seeking a Network Specialist (Network Engineer) to strengthen our global IT organization.

In this key role, you will support major IT projects worldwide, enhance our network security posture, and ensure stable day-to-day operations across multiple international sites.

You’ll collaborate closely with our Network Architect and partners to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing network environments.

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on network support to global IT projects and assist vendors in troubleshooting complex issues.
• Collaborate with the Network Architect to design and deploy new network solutions and improvements.
• Manage and validate firewall access requests to ensure compliance with security requirements.
• Develop and enforce firewall policies and rules controlling inbound and outbound network traffic.
• Regularly review and optimize firewall configurations in line with security best practices and internal standards.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.

Your Background & Expertise

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise WAN, LAN, and WLAN environments.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Palo Alto Firewall configuration and management.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs).
• Experience with HP Aruba switches and wireless access points.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SNMP, Wireshark).
• Understanding of Azure networking (an advantage).
• ITIL Foundation certification (minimum requirement).
