Contract Kotlin Backend Engineer

We're partnering with a leading organisation building next-generation payment systems as part of a flagship project.

They're looking for a Kotlin Backend Engineer to help design and deliver scalable, secure systems that make a real impact. You'll work as part of a small, experienced Scrum squad and collaborate on flagship project over the next 12 months.

What you'll be doing

1. Designing and building backend services in Kotlin within a cloud-based environment.
2. Collaborating with engineers, product, and compliance teams on Fin-tech initiatives.
3. Driving discussions around event-driven architecture, scalability, and system reliability.
4. Participating in cross-team collaboration sessions and technical reviews.

What you'll bring

1. Strong Kotlin backend development experience.
2. Hands-on experience with cloud-based / event-driven architectures (AWS, GCP) – doesn't matter which because they have a wrap around later
3. Background in microservices, distributed systems, and API development.
4. Any exposure to terraform and DevOps working is a nice bonus
5. Ideally, exposure to FinTech / Financial / Banking domains.
6. A collaborative mindset and a passion for building clean, scalable systems.
