Description

We’re hiring a Data Scientist to lead end-to-end data science efforts across product, growth, and operations. This is a hands-on role, and you’ll be the primary owner of all modeling work, from problem framing and data prep to deployment and monitoring.

You’ll build models that directly power the product (e.g., Routing, matching, optimization) and also tackle customer analytics like segmentation, retention modeling, and personalization. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Product, Operations, and Growth to translate business problems into deployable, measurable data products.

Responsibilities

Core Modeling & Deployment

• Design, train, and deploy ML models for high-impact product and operational use cases (e.g., Parameter prediction, routing optimization, supply-demand matching, or pricing).
• Build, host, and maintain production-ready APIs or services for models used by engineering teams.
• Track model performance, conceptualize improvements, and iterate for stability and accuracy.
• Balance model complexity, latency, and performance for production integration.

Data & Experimentation

• Own end-to-end pipelines: data cleaning, feature engineering, validation, and storage for analysis and model inputs.
• Support experimentation and A/B testing to measure model and feature impact.
• Design scalable approaches for retraining and versioning models for continuous performance improvements.

Customer Segmentation & Personalization

• Build customer segmentation models to identify behavioral clusters, high-value segments, or churn-prone cohorts.
• Develop recommendations or personalization models to tailor product experiences or marketing outreach.
• Partner with Growth and Product to test and operationalize segment-based strategies (e.g., targeted incentives, feature access, or comms).
• Combine behavioral, transactional, and operational data to inform retention and engagement strategies.

Cross-Functional Work

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Growth and Operations to identify and scope new data science opportunities.
• Communicate technical outputs clearly and translate findings into product or operational decisions.
• Deploy best practices for model development, monitoring, and governance

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in data science or ML engineering roles.
• Strong Python skills (pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch/TensorFlow).
• Hands-on experience with deploying and maintaining ML models in production environments (e.g., AWS Lambda, SageMaker, or via custom APIs using FastAPI/Flask).
• Solid understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning (including clustering, regression, classification).
• Strong SQL skills and comfort working with unstructured, cross-functional data.
• Familiarity with AWS and GCP cloud environments.
• Able to independently own projects from exploration to live deployment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with geospatial or mobility data (ETA, routing, or logistics use cases), or with marketplaces or demand-supply systems.
• Experience in recommendation algorithms and personalization engines.
• Experience setting up ML pipelines or internal tooling for retraining and monitoring.
