You have an opportunity
We are seeking a strategic and analytically-minded Business Analyst to lead and support the development of analytics capabilities. This role focuses on enabling business teams to leverage data effectively by identifying analytics needs, improving data literacy, and driving adoption of tools, platforms, and methodologies that support advanced analytics and decision-making.
This is a hybrid role – onsite presence at our Toronto office will be 10 days or more per month (or at least 50% of the time), determined in collaboration with your manager and based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Analytics Enablement & Strategy
- Partner with business units to assess current analytics maturity and identify capability gaps.
- Define and prioritize analytics use cases aligned with strategic goals.
- Support the development and rollout of analytics frameworks, governance models, and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for analytics solutions, dashboards, and data products.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications for technical data integrator, data engineering, front end developers and BI teams.
- Facilitate workshops to align on KPIs, metrics definitions, and reporting standards.
- Drive adoption of analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, …) across business units.
- Provide training, onboarding, and support to users to improve data literacy and self-service capabilities.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance analytics capabilities.
- Work with data governance teams to ensure consistent definitions, data lineage, and metadata management.
- Monitor data quality issues and coordinate resolution with technical teams.
- Promote responsible data usage and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Define success metrics for analytics initiatives and track performance over time.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess impact and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in analytics and business intelligence.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience with datasets from the Healthcare, Pharma, or Health Insurance industries,
- Strong understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metric calculations relevant to the pharma and biotech sector
- 3–6 years of experience in business analysis, analytics strategy, or data product management.
- Strong understanding of analytics platforms, data visualization tools, and data architecture.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including data engineers, BI developers, and business stakeholders.
- Experience with Canadian data sets (IQVIA, EMRs, Claims, …)
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with data modeling concepts.
- Experience with cloud data platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and product management principles.
- Exposure to data science workflows and machine learning use cases.
- Ability to lead change management and drive cultural adoption of analytics.
