Bakuun is looking for an enthusiastic self-starter to lead and elevate our product design efforts. The role plays a key part in our organization’s success; one that involves creating user-centered designs, improving the overall usability of our platform, and ensuring visual consistency across all products. In order to support the rapid growth of our business, we are looking for someone with strong experience in UX and UI design who can ensure that every interface we deliver is intuitive, engaging, and aligned with our product vision.

About the Role

We are looking for a UX/UI Designer who can bridge product design in improving our existing digital products and designing new user experiences that drive growth.

You will work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to ensure Bakuun’s interfaces and designs deliver a consistent, high-quality experience across every customer touchpoint.

Your Responsibilities

1. Improve and enhance existing products

• Audit and analyze current user flows (e.g., booking, contracting, payments) to identify usability issues or friction points.
• Propose and design iterative improvements that make tasks simpler, faster, and more enjoyable for users.
• Introduce consistency in layouts, navigation, and interactions across the Bakuun ecosystem.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Developers to prioritize enhancements that deliver measurable impact (for example, reduced onboarding time or fewer booking errors).
• Monitor feedback, usage data, and performance metrics to validate your design decisions.

2. Design new features and experiences

• Participate in product discovery sessions to understand business goals and user needs.
• Translate early ideas into user journeys, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes.
• Design complete end-to-end experiences for new features — from first concept to final launch.
• Work closely with engineering to ensure the design intent is implemented accurately and efficiently.
• Contribute to user testing and collect feedback to refine designs before release.

3. Strengthen the Bakuun design system

• Help maintain and expand a shared design language and component library in tools such as Figma.
• Ensure new designs align with accessibility, scalability, and brand guidelines.
• Partner with engineers to keep design documentation up to date for consistent execution.

4. Use data and AI tools to drive design decisions

• Use analytics, heatmaps, and behavioral data to understand how users interact with the product.
• Explore AI-driven tools to automate repetitive design work, generate layout ideas, or analyze user feedback.
• Suggest how AI can improve the user experience in the product itself — for example, personalized dashboards or smart assistance during booking or payment flows.

5. Collaborate and communicate effectively

• Work closely with Product Managers to clarify problems and prioritize solutions.
• Partner with Engineers to translate designs into reality with efficiency and technical feasibility in mind.
• Present design ideas clearly to stakeholders and explain your rationale using data, usability, and customer feedback.

What You Should Bring

Core Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a UX/UI Designer or Product Designer in a digital or technology company.
• A strong portfolio showing both new-feature design and iterative improvements to live products.
• Proven ability to simplify complex workflows into clear, intuitive interfaces.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
• Solid understanding of interaction design, usability principles, and accessibility best practices.
• Experience designing responsive layouts for both desktop and mobile web applications.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to communicate ideas clearly to cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with travel, marketplace, or fintech systems.
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup or growth environment.
• Understanding of analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Hotjar, or Google Analytics) to support data-informed design decisions.
• Awareness of how AI and automation can enhance design workflows or improve the product experience.

What Success Looks Like (First 3 Months)

Month 1 – Understand and Observe

• Review existing Bakuun products and user journeys to understand the business context.
• Identify at least 3 high-impact areas for usability improvement.

Month 2 – Improve and Deliver

• Design and deliver your first product enhancement (for example, a more efficient onboarding or booking flow).
• Partner with Product and Engineering to scope and release a small but meaningful update.

Month 3 – Innovate and Build

• Lead the design of a new feature or user flow from concept to developer handoff.
• Present your design improvements and their measurable results (e.g., improved conversion, fewer support tickets, or better engagement).
