Job Description

As a Project Manager III, you will manage and oversee all aspects of Data Center projects to ensure it is completed on-time and within budget. You are responsible for managing scope, cost, schedule, internal staffing and outside vendors. You will prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project as well as contribute to moderately complex aspects of a project. Your work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of data center projects (infrastructure builds, capacity expansions, migrations, and technology upgrades).
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure project alignment and successful outcomes.
  • Technical Oversight: Oversee technical solutions, ensuring they align with data center standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Budget & Timeline Management: Manage project budgets, resources, and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, provide regular progress updates, and prepare executive reports.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development of project governance frameworks, best practices, and continuous improvement in project delivery.
  • This role can be based in Singapore or Malaysia, with 30% to 40% travel to DC sites across Johor, Malaysia will be required (location depending on projects), and possibly to other regional (APAC) locations in future.
  • This is a physically demanding role that will require you to be out in the field when on-site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • MUST have at least 5+ years of project management experience.
  • MUST have at least 3 years hands-on experience in Data Center design or fit-out projects, familiar with IT infrastructure, networking, server/storage, cloud migration, or facilities integration.
  • MUST be able to speak fluent Mandarin to engage with China clients.
  • Strong knowledge of data center technologies (servers, storage, networking, virtualization, cabling, power/cooling, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Busway systems will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Data Center compliance standards (ISO, SOC, Tier certifications).
  • PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, or Agile certifications are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in managing vendors, contractors, and cross-functional IT teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and team player.
  • Able to travel overseas for extended periods (possibly 30% to 40%).
