With KCL's continued growth, we are looking for an outstanding Front-end Web Developer. This role is crucial in bringing our website to life, ensuring optimal performance and functionality. You will be responsible for the coding, innovative design, and layout of our website. You will create and maintain the KCL website by writing code and implementing features using programming languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to design the site's structure, layout, and functionality. Your focus will be on user interface and experience, ensuring a visually appealing and responsive design. Additionally, you will conduct testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues, ensuring the website functions smoothly.
This is a full-time remote position with a Monday-Friday work week.

In this role you will:
- Coding and Programming: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSX
- Front-end Development: Create and implement visually appealing and responsive user interfaces, ensuring a positive user experience
- Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough testing of the website, identify bugs, and troubleshoot issues to maintain a high level of functionality and performance
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers, other developers, and cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and contribute to a cohesive development process
- Version Control: Use version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage and track changes in the codebase, ensuring collaboration and code integrity
- Security Implementation: Implement security measures to protect the website from vulnerabilities and potential threats
- Optimization: Optimize website performance by addressing issues related to speed, responsiveness, and overall efficiency
- Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of code, processes, and project details to facilitate collaboration and future maintenance
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum of three years experience in front-end web development
- Exceptional programming proficiency and in-depth knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience with AstroJS and React-based development
- Foundational understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles
- Proactive problem diagnosis and innovative problem-solving abilities
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively within budget and timeline constraints, coupled with business acumen
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, rapidly acquire new knowledge, and master diverse web technologies and techniques
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Web Developer Bootcamp Certification or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Three or more years of front-end web development experience
- Proficiency in writing specifications and implementing back-end APIs
- Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining database structures for efficient data storage and retrieval
- Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction
- Use of Fingers: Primarily using fingers for tasks such as picking, pinching, and typing
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas verbally, including conveying detailed or important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly
- Hearing: Perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels, with or without correction, to receive detailed oral communication and make fine sound discriminations
- Repetitive Motions: Making substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Close Visual Acuity: Required for activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
- General Visual Acuity: Necessary to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work
- The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (typical of office or administrative work)
