We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and secure our SQL and Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability, and security implementation. This role is based in Doha, Qatar, and requires hands-on experience in database administration within enterprise environments.

ey Responsibilities:

• Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL and Oracle databases, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies, including replication, backups, and failover configurations.
• Perform query tuning, index optimization, and capacity planning to ensure efficient database operations.
• Manage user access, roles, and data governance in compliance with organizational policies.
• Apply patches, upgrades, and ensure database security hardening and compliance.
• Support data migrations, version upgrades, and schema changes across environments.
• Troubleshoot performance issues, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventive measures.
• Maintain database jobs, maintenance plans, and automate repetitive administrative tasks.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including procedures, configurations, and recovery runbooks.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator handling both SQL Server and Oracle environments.
• Proven expertise in HA/DR, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security controls.
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL, PL/SQL, and database automation tools.
• Experience with cloud database services (Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS) is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
