You’ll join our Digital & Web team at a transformative moment, as we shape the future of Videndum’s websites and explore a new generation of content management systems and digital platforms.
As our in-house developer, you’ll take a hands-on role in maintaining and enhancing our global websites and web applications. You’ll work across both front-end and back-end development, collaborating with designers, marketers, IT teams, and an experienced external development agency to deliver projects that support our global brands.
Work Location: Bury St Edmunds/Hybrid - 3 days a week (after initial training period) in the office at Bury St. Edmunds.
Your day-to-day might include:
- Developing responsive, accessible, and user-friendly web interfaces.
- Supporting backend functionality such as templates and third-party integrations.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting for internal and external users.
- Helping to connect websites with external systems like our PIM, Partner Portal, or Salesforce via tools such as Zapier or Mulesoft (with support from our IT team).
- Working closely with our internal marketing/product teams and external agency to scope and implement new features or site improvements.
- Writing clean, maintainable code and ensuring thorough testing before changes go live.
- Contributing to conversations about performance, usability, and site reliability.
- Researching and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices.

What We’re Looking For:
You’ll have roughly 1–3 years of professional experience in full-stack or web development and feel confident working on scoped projects and collaborating across teams. You don’t need to know everything — we’ll support your growth — but you should bring:
- Solid knowledge of frontend development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Working experience with backend technologies (e.g. PHP or similar server-side language).
- Experience using CMS platforms and templating systems in a live website environment.
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
- Basic experience with API integrations (REST and/or GraphQL).
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently while keeping others informed.
- A strong eye for quality, with attention to testing and debugging before deployment.
- Experience with templating engines (e.g., Twig, Blade) or CMS/e-commerce platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, or Adobe Commerce.
- Exposure to frontend frameworks like React, Vue, or Next.js.
- Awareness of headless CMS concepts and how content is delivered via APIs.
- Understanding of hosting environments and basic security practices (e.g., SSL, WAF, caching).
- Interest in accessibility, SEO, or site performance optimisation.
- Confidence working from design tools such as Figma.
- GCSE English and Maths – Grade C or above.
