The Role

As an iOS Developer at State, you will shape the experience of democracy on mobile — where emotion, design, and performance intersect.

You’ll craft elegant, high-performance interfaces using SwiftUI, Combine, and the latest Apple Human Interface trends, turning complex civic interactions into simple, fluid gestures.

You’ll collaborate closely with designers, backend engineers, and product thinkers to bring State’s vision to life, from the first pixel to the final animation.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and refine a beautiful, responsive iOS app that defines how users engage with democracy.
• Work end-to-end: concept, prototype, build, test, polish, and ship.
• Push visual boundaries with animations, gestures, and transitions that feel human and effortless.
• Implement clean, scalable architectures using Swift, SwiftUI, and Combine.
• Collaborate with product and design to maintain a unified design language across every interaction.
• Champion performance, accessibility, and native iOS excellence.
• Stay at the forefront of Apple’s evolving design ecosystem — from iOS 18 features to the latest Xcode workflows.

What You Bring

• A strong portfolio of apps or interfaces that feel alive — showcasing your eye for detail and love of design.
• Mastery of Swift and SwiftUI; experience with UIKit or Objective-C is a plus.
• Familiarity with async/await, MVVM, and modular app architecture.
• Comfort working with RESTful APIs and modern CI/CD pipelines (Vercel, GitHub Actions, or similar).
• A designer’s mindset: you care as much about motion, spacing, and typography as you do about code quality.
• Passion for creating products that inspire trust, connection, and participation.
• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent real-world mastery.
