Riga (Hybrid working)

The VP of GSBS Transformation and Site Lead role provides leadership to represent and define the GSBS vision, strategy, and operating model in RS and GSBS Transformation projects. The role will drive change, organizational restructuring to align processes and structures with new goals, cultural integration to foster employee buy-in, technology adoption to enable new capabilities and stakeholder management to ensure collaboration and address concerns.
In addition, this role will be the site owner of the RS location in Riga, Latvia. As the site owner, the role holder will ultimately be expected to be the senior leader at this location and will be accountable for legal requirements and people, health, safety, and engagement across the whole of the site. It is expected that they will liaise with other parts of the organisation on behalf of roles outside of GSBS that are located at the site and ensure that all policies and procedures for the RS Group are followed and adhered to.
What you will be doing:
This role has a dual responsibility, for leading on Transformation Programmes within GSBS, and managing the Riga Office location:
Transformation:
- You will be managing the priority initiatives for GSBS and representing GSBS in strategic business projects.
- You will take ownership of project outcomes aligned with the GSBS overarching Strategy and objectives as well as the efficient project delivery.
- The role holder will be accountable for strategic alignment to GSBS vision and strategy, resource optimization, allocating and managing assets effectively; stakeholder engagement, involving key parties to support project success, performance measurement tracking how the projects drive organizational KPIs and competitive advantage.
- This role requires strong change management and leadership experience within a global organization, and a strong focus on execution.
- The role will require global cross-functional working, including interaction with all levels of management across our GSBS global enterprises and with senior stakeholders such as business/corporate functional owners, and functional VPs / SVPs.
- The role will be responsible for the management of budgets, ensuring appropriate cost management, compliance and governance to all RS Group policies and procedures.
- Ensuring the site meets all applicable health and safety and environmental standards, maintaining safe and productive working environment, and compliance with relevant laws & regulations.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure risk assessments are conducted, necessary certifications, inspections, audits are planned for.
- Maintenance, implementation of Business Continuity Plan. Identify key risks (operational, financial, safety) and create mitigation plans.
- Handle emergency situations, escalations, incident investigations.
- Manage site infrastructure, utilities, machinery / equipment maintenance. Developing and implementing strategies to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the location.
- The role holder will be expected to ensure GSBS concepts are operated on site (Operational excellence 4 quadrants) for GSBS and non GSBS managed activities and ensure that all operations are managed according to quality standards.
- In cooperation with HR support local hiring, developing, and retaining talent, building learning organization and strong future ready talent pipeline within site for specific areas, and create inclusive, engaging, and collaborative work environment.
- This role requires strong change management and leadership experience within a global organization, and a strong focus on execution.
- You will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills, within a global, matrix environment.
- Excellent knowledge of business processes and systems, and an understanding of the critical success factors for a Shared Service Centre as reliable, effective and efficient business service provider.
- Experience in project management and process improvement.
- Proven experience leading mixed function and diverse teams through change.
- Experience of working and building relationships with senior leadership and key stakeholders across multiple geographies.
- Understanding of technology and how it can be used to improve business performance.
- Fluent in modern Latvian and English.
