The Investment Analyst Intern at Alumia is a valuable team member working closely with the Senior Investment Analyst and the Head of Investments to deliver tailored advice to the firm’s clients.

This role involves providing support in due diligence, the preparation of research reports and client presentations, and the maintenance of portfolio management data and systems.


The Investment Analyst Intern will undergo training to develop independence and progressively take on more responsibilities within the investment team.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with due diligence of investment funds across asset classes, i.e. equities, fixed income, commodities, hedge funds, private equity.
  • Conduct competitor and peer group analysis for identified investment strategies.
  • Maintain portfolio management tools, utilizing automation / AI to scale processes efficiently.
  • Maintain a database of potential asset managers and investment strategies for ongoing research.
  • • Support the sales and marketing teams by providing analysis and research findings for investment strategies.
  • Assist with the ongoing collection of relevant documents for investment products.


1. Due Diligence Support

  • Assist the Senior Investment Analyst and the Head of the team in conducting due diligence on potential investment opportunities across public and private market funds, including building relationships with external asset managers across asset classes.
  • Contribute to the analysis of investment strategies, market trends, and risk factors to inform investment decisions.


2. Preparation of Research Reports and Client Presentations

  • Support the preparation of research reports and client presentations by gathering relevant data, conducting analysis, and contributing insights.
  • Collaborate with the investment, sales and marketing teams to present findings in a clear and concise manner.


3. Maintaining Portfolio Management Data and Systems

  • Assist in updating portfolio management tools by inputting data, maintaining accuracy, and ensuring alignment with investment strategies.
  • Work closely with the team to implement changes and improvements to portfolio models, including automation of processes using AI.


4. Training and Development

  • Undergo training to enhance skills in due diligence, financial analysis, and portfolio management.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Investment Analyst for mentorship and guidance on building independent analytical capabilities.


5. Collaboration with Investment Team

  • Actively participate in team discussions, providing input and gaining exposure to the investment decision-making process.
  • Collaborate with team members to contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.


Experience & Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in finance, financial engineering, mathematics, economics, or other business-related areas having strong quantitative and analytical analysis.
  • Knowledge across multiple asset classes including fixed income, equities and private market preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Word and Excel). Familiarity with MorningStar Direct is beneficial.
  • Strong communication, written and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team
