As a Software Engineer with Google in Bucharest, you will work on the application layer, focusing on product delivery and user experiences across platforms and devices. Your work will incorporate into products and services used by people around the world, specifically including Android Enterprise solutions, Wear OS software components, and frameworks for iOS integration. You will tackle challenging mobile development problems, focusing on user experience and performance optimisation. 

Your Responsibilities

• Develop robust product and system code.  
• Diligently review code, ensuring top-notch quality and adherence to best practices.  
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.  
• Triage and resolve product or system issues, analysing the impact on service quality.  
• Lead or actively participate in technology design reviews with peers and stakeholders.  

About You We're looking for versatile engineers who are passionate about client-side architecture, user experience, and have a proven track record in developing and shipping high-quality mobile applications.  

Candidates should possess some or all of the following skills and experience:

Minimum qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.  
• Experience working with data structures or algorithms during coursework, projects, research, internships, or practical experience.  
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).  
• Experience building user-facing applications with a strong focus on user experience and UI design.  
• The ability to communicate effectively in English

All candidates must have one of the below:

• iOS Development: Proficiency in Swift and proven experience with dedicated iOS application development.
• Android Development: Proficiency in Java/Kotlin with demonstrable experience building and shipping Android applications on the Play Store.
• Mobile Architecture & Performance: Extensive experience in API design, defining client architecture, and optimising mobile app performance using profiling tools.
