Do you want to play a key role in securing tomorrow’s connected and electrified vehicles?
ALTEN is now looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to strengthen our team at one of our major automotive clients in Gothenburg. In this role, you will work close to product development — ensuring that vehicle electronics, ECUs, and embedded systems meet the highest standards of cybersecurity and functional safety.
About the role
As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be part of the development of next-generation vehicle platforms, contributing to secure design and integration of embedded systems.
You will perform Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA), define and validate cybersecurity requirements, and support ECU onboarding throughout the development lifecycle.
The role combines hands-on engineering with process-driven security work, where you collaborate closely with system architects, software developers, and function owners to integrate cybersecurity into every stage of product development. A strong understanding of system engineering principles and cross-domain collaboration is essential for success in this position.
Your profile
You are an analytical and structured engineer with a genuine interest in automotive technology and cybersecurity. You enjoy working close to the product, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring secure and robust solutions for connected vehicles.
We see that you have:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or similar.
- Relevant experience in cybersecurity within the automotive industry.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity concepts, standards, and methods.
- Hands-on experience with TARA (Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment) and onboarding of ECUs.
- Experience with product development, requirement management, and system-level design.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Main responsibilities
- Perform Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) to identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
- Define, review, and maintain cybersecurity requirements throughout the development process.
- Support ECU onboarding activities and ensure compliance with internal and external cybersecurity standards.
- Collaborate with system, software, and test engineers to integrate cybersecurity in design and validation phases.
- Conduct vulnerability analyses, support mitigations, and contribute to secure system architectures.
- Work closely with system engineering teams to align cybersecurity with overall vehicle architecture and functionality.
