We are seeking a Physical Security Specialist to support the Line Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive security measures and procedures that protect our data center facilities from physical threats and unauthorized access. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams — including Facilities Management, Security Personnel, and Client Security counterparts — to ensure the safety, integrity, and reliability of our data center security operations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage, and enhance CCTV, physical security and access control systems and procedures to monitor and control access to data center facilities, including badge issuance, access permissions, Key Management, and visitor management.
- Supervise security personnel and contractors responsible for guarding data center facilities, ensuring adherence to security policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular security system assessments, risk evaluations and drills of the data center facilities to identify vulnerabilities and ensure appropriate countermeasures.
- Respond promptly to security incidents and breaches, conduct investigations, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Organize security-related training sessions for employees concerning loss prevention and physical security topics to increase their awareness of security standards, policies, and procedures.
- Monitors training plans and performance to ensure that plans are on track and performance is met, with regular review.
- Stay informed about emerging threats and security trends in the data center industry, recommending proactive measures to enhance security posture.
- Oversee and enhance data center security policies, procedures, and protocols to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Ensure that organizational personnel adhere to established policies and practices by conducting internal and external audits of physical security and access control and recommending appropriate actions to correct deficiencies.
- Collaborate with IT / Operations teams to integrate physical security systems with IT infrastructure and monitoring tools for comprehensive security management.
- Coordinate with Operations / Infrastructure planning / Technical Program Management teams to design and implement physical security enhancements, including access controls, surveillance systems, and perimeter security measures.
- Support line manager in overseeing the vendor performance or monitor compliance and ensure effective review and processes are aligned.
- Responsible for physical security systems across data center operations and Integrates security frameworks with IT, QHSE, and sustainability functions
- Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate statements and reports to meet department requirements, policies, and quality standards.
- Notify the Clients about the incidents, risks and notify them if there are any destructions to ensure they are provided with regular reports.
- Digitalize, centralize, and maintain documentation of security incidents, investigations, and remediation efforts, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with Clients regarding security issues, threats, and developments.
- The job holder may be required to undertake additional duties, which may be reasonably expected and forms part of the function of the job.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., IT or Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
- Expert with IT, Network, Servers, Cloud, Database.
- Security systems experience (Access Control, CCTV, Perimeter Security, Design,), operating, configuring, troubleshooting.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in physical security System management and hands-on expertise preferably with a focus on data center or critical infrastructure security and within the GCC region.
- Security Operations, Procedures and Processes
- Incident Management experience.
- Security Projects, physical designs, systems design (preferred).
- SIRA Certified System Engineer or Consultant (preferred)
Additional Qualifications:
- Proven experience as Physical Security Specialist/ Engineer.
- Proven track of reducing physical security incidents, achieve full compliance with SIRA/ADMCC certification across all sites.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures, especially SIRA and ADMCC (mandatory)
- Experience in writing reports and documents for physical security.
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
- Proficient in MS Office; working knowledge of security related information systems is a plus.
- Outstanding organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Familiarity with local and international regulation and standards and its audit and renewal processes.
