Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Network Engineer with hands-on experience in managing and maintaining Cisco-based network infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in network technologies, possess hands-on configuration experience, and demonstrate excellent communication, documentation skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment. The candidate should possess the on-site experience and technical expertise expected of a Site Engineer, including handling installations, performing testing, and coordinating with other teams during field deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, monitor, and maintain Cisco switches, routers, wireless controllers and access points.
- Implement and manage VLANs, Inter-VLAN Routing, and Layer 3 interfaces.
- Configure and troubleshoot network features such as EtherChannel, Port Security, VSS, HSRP and Spanning Tree.
- Manage and optimize routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
- Configure NTP, DHCP, and Syslog for network synchronization and management.
- Perform firmware upgrades, network performance analysis and proactive monitor for known Cisco software bugs or vulnerabilities.
- Conduct regular configuration and backup of all network devices to ensure recovery readiness.
- Open and manage TAC cases, coordinate with Cisco support teams to identify the root cause and drive timely resolution.
- Document network configurations, updates, and incidents accurately.
- Support network design, expansion, and migration activities.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation including Change Requests (CRs), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports, and configuration records.
- Collaborate with IT, Security, and operations teams to ensure smooth network operations.
- Provide timely incident response and participate in on-call or after-hours support when required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing Cisco networking infrastructure.
- Valid CCNA Certification (CCNP or higher certification is an advantage.)
- Familiarity with Cisco DNA Center for network automation and telemetry.
- Experience with Cisco Meraki Dashboard for cloud-managed networking.
- Basic understanding of firewall configuration (Cisco ASA, Firepower, FMC).
- Exposure to network monitoring and SIEM tools (Cisco Prime Infrastructure, SolarWinds, PRTG, Splunk, etc.).
- Familiarity with Cisco SmartNet processes, RMA workflows, and TAC engagement.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills (CRs, RCAs, and change logs).
- Valid UAE Driving License is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of:
- VLANs and Inter-VLAN Routing
- Trunk, EtherChannel, and Port Security
- VSS (Virtual Switching System), HSRP, GLBP and other HA technologies.
- Spanning Tree, RSTP, MSTP
- NTP, DHCP, DNS, and Syslog
- Routing Protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP & BGP.
- Layer 2/3 troubleshooting and packet analysis.
- Firmware management and backup automation.
