We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Product Designer to join our client's fast-paced environment and tackle complex design challenges.
In this contract role, you will be a strong advocate for the customer, applying your formal design training and passion for customer-centric innovation to shape intuitive user experiences for digital products. The ideal candidate has a versatile background, blending visual design and UX design skills, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality work, manage complexity, and effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
This is a 6-month contract, which requires the Product Designer to work at our client's office in downtown Toronto 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate product visions by researching, conceiving, wireframing, sketching, prototyping, and mocking up user experiences for digital products.
- Translate concepts into wireframes and mock-ups that lead to intuitive user experiences.
- Design and test prototypes effectively using various techniques (sketch, paper, wireframe, video, or interactive prototypes).
- Conduct basic user research with limited support and provide actionable insights.
- Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mock-ups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure design deliverables align with both user and business needs.
- Actively manage stakeholders, presenting and discussing your work to a diverse audience and constructively integrating feedback.
- Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions, taking a user-centered design approach to rapidly test and iterate designs.
- Contribute to experience design processes and be knowledgeable of emerging design trends.
Requirements
Must-Have Skills and Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of overall experience in design, with 3+ years in digital design, interaction, and visual design.
- A degree in design or a design-related discipline (e.g., industrial design, user-centred design, visual design, design strategy, human-computer interaction).
- Expertise (7+ years of proficiency) in design tools such as Figma, Axure, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proven ability (5+ years of experience) to produce high-quality wireframes and annotations and strong visual design skills.
- Demonstrated ability (5+ years of experience) to manage stakeholders, influence, and communicate ideas effectively.
- Strong experience in prototyping and sketching as part of the design process.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong critical thinking, and the ability to challenge old ways of thinking.
- Understanding of web and mobile technologies.
Nice-to-Have Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with animation designing.
