About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Scientist to join our Data Analytics & Computational Sciences team within Johnson & Johnson’s Innovative Medicine division. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying advanced data science solutions that generate impactful insights for our organization. You will work at the forefront of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Natural Language Processing to influence decision-making processes across various business units. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background combined with strategic thinking, enabling them to lead complex projects from inception through to successful implementation. As a key leader, you will also mentor junior data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning. Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of industry experience in data science or related disciplines.
  • Proficiency with machine learning platforms and environments.
  • Solid knowledge of machine learning techniques including regression, decision trees, neural networks, Bayesian models, clustering, and association rules.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
  • Track record of delivering data science projects involving predictive analytics, data mining, and text mining.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative machine learning and AI models to solve complex business problems and improve healthcare outcomes.
  • Conduct research and experiment with novel algorithms and techniques to enhance data science capabilities.
  • Lead end-to-end data science projects, from data collection and preprocessing to modeling, validation, and deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including clinical, commercial, and IT to align data science initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and advancements in machine learning, AI, and data science to ensure the organization remains at the cutting edge.
