Overview

Are you looking to make an impact? We’re looking for a Software Engineer to work on a small, cross-functional design, product, and engineering team to build mobile features, and a shared services platform empowering other developers to build mobile features, that will help millions of Veterans get easier access to care and benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

This role anticipates approximately 10% travel.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to define, design, and ship new systems and features
  • Participate in technical roadmap and architecture planning
  • Work with other engineers and set standards for clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Work with designers to review solutions for technical feasibility and accessibility
  • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure the quality of the codebase
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex software issues


What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience delivering mobile apps and/or shared services platform products on cloud platforms
  • Hands-on experience with Rails, experience with React Native and TypeScript a plus
  • Ability to help prioritize, define, and architect work to ensure high quality while meeting our deadline goals
  • Comfort working with product and design teams to understand customer requirements and use cases that inform the solution design
  • Comfort working in an agile, iterative, sprint based environment
  • Familiarity with accessibility, privacy, security, access management, and writing software that handles PII
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

$73,000 - $105,000 a year

Compensation

Compensation for this role is $73,000 to $105,000 Annual Salary + Bene fi ts + Growth Poten ti al

Placement within this range will be based on the competency level of the candidate. An offer will be made atone of the following tiers:

Tier 1: $73,000 — Meets minimum qualification/experience requirements. Beyond onboarding, will need additional guidance and training to perform key responsibilities of the role.

Tier 2: $89,166 — Experienced and fully-competent. Beyond onboarding, can independently perform key responsibilities of the role.

Tier 3: $105,000 — Highly-experienced and can perform all responsibilities of the role at a higher level than expected once onboarding is completed.

To honor our company-wide equitable pay system, the posted salary range and corresponding tier salaries are non-negotiable.
