Design is centrally responsible for the design supporting all consumer-facing and business products and tooling for the Disney Entertainment & ESPN portfolio, including sports, entertainment, enterprise, UX, creative services and design research.

As a Product Design Intern on the Streaming team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on consumer-facing streaming products (e.g. Disney+, Hulu) and assist in shaping the user experience. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to bring meaningful features to life.

You’ll support design work from concept through implementation, help maintain design consistency across platforms, and present your ideas to stakeholders.

What You Will Do:


  • Solve complex problems and make streaming intuitive and joyful
  • Create mockups and prototypes to express design intent
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, researchers, engineers, and brand partners to align design solutions with business goals and user needs
  • Participate in ideation workshops, design reviews, and concepting sessions
  • Incorporate user research (qualitative & quantitative) and usage data into design decisions
  • Work closely with product managers and engineers to validate designs and ensure technical feasibility
  • Present design rationale, explain tradeoffs, and communicate to stakeholders


Required Qualifications & Skills:


  • Experience with design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, information architecture
  • Strong communication skills. Able to explain design rationale clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams, receive feedback, and iterate
  • Detail-oriented, self-driven, eager to learn


Preferred Qualifications & Skills:


  • Portfolio or case study demonstrating past UX / interaction/ visual design work
  • Experience with motion design, micro-interactions, or animated prototypes
  • Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how designs are implemented
  • Ability to work with and interpret analytics, metrics, and user data
  • Experience designing across multiple platforms (iOS, Android, web)
  • Familiarity with design systems, component-based design, and maintaining scalable UI frameworks


Preferred Qualifications & Skills:


  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Product Design, UX Design, Human–Computer Interaction, Visual Communications, Interaction Design, or a related field


Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:


  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization


Additional Information:


  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • Fully available from M-F, 40 hours each week for the entire program duration: May/June - August/September 2026 (12 weeks)
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work


The pay rate for this role in Santa Monica, CA and Seattle, WA is $38 per hour.
