Role Description

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct discovery and assessment of existing messaging environments, including Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, PKI, load balancers, edge devices and mail hygiene layers

* Create detailed Exchange infrastructure architecture, capacity planning and high-availability designs for multi-site deployments

* Implement Exchange Server environments (2016/2019) encompassing CAS, Mailbox roles, Database Availability Groups (DAG), and hybrid connectivity

* Execute migrations from legacy platforms including Exchange 2010/2013, third-party IMAP systems, and cloud-hybrid transitions

* Integrate Exchange systems with Microsoft Entra ID, ADFS, and hybrid identity synchronization (Entra Connect)

* Configure coexistence, mail routing, public folders, certificate management, transport rules, compliance and RBAC

* Manage migration tooling: Microsoft native methods, Quest/BITitan or similar solutions

* Optimize server performance, backup & recovery strategy, database replication, and storage resiliency

* Establish controls for antivirus/anti-spam, DKIM/DMARC, DLP, retention policies and auditing

* Perform end-to-end cutover, staged, or phased migrations with minimal downtime and zero-loss handovers

* Prepare comprehensive documentation including design artifacts, runbooks, validation plans and operational guidelines

* Support knowledge transfer and training for operations teams

* Address escalation-level issues and drive root-cause analysis for critical incidents

Required Skills & Experience

* 6+ years hands-on experience in Microsoft Exchange design, deployment and administration

* Strong mastery of Exchange 2016/2019 architecture, DAG, load balancing and hybrid topology

* Expertise in AD schema readiness, Entra Connect, PowerShell automation and recipient management

* Proven track record in large-scale mail migrations (10K+ mailboxes preferred)

* Deep understanding of mail flow protocols (SMTP, TLS, Autodiscover, MAPI/HTTP, Outlook Anywhere)

* Ability to harden and secure environments aligned with compliance frameworks

* Proficiency integrating archive, backup solutions and monitoring tools (SCOM, M365 compliance center etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

* Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate or Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administrator

* Experience with Exchange Online migrations and hybrid models

* Familiarity with ITIL-based change and service management

* Knowledge of network segmentation, firewalls, VPN, SD-WAN related to mail services

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Doha, Qatar for a Microsoft Messaging and AD Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for providing technical support for Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory environments. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting issues, managing messaging infrastructure, and ensuring the efficient operation of messaging and directory services. The engineer will also monitor system performance, apply necessary updates, and implement best practices to maintain a secure and reliable infrastructure.

NOTE: Its an onsite role in Qatar and local candidates with transferable Visa would be preferred.
