Product Designer — Complex Data SaaS Platform

Location: London (Hybrid)

3 month contract - Day Rate - Outside IR35

The Role

We are looking for a Product Designer to join a fast-growing startup building a next-generation data platform. The product helps business owners and operators understand the performance of their companies through powerful insights and clear visualisation.

Working closely with the CTO and engineering team, you will design elegant, intuitive interfaces that make complex data feel effortless to use. This role suits someone who enjoys turning technical or analytical challenges into simple, human-centred experiences.

You will:

• Design clean, intuitive experiences for data-heavy applications.
• Create seamless user flows that connect high-level metrics to detailed insights.
• Incorporate AI-driven insights into product design, surfacing suggestions clearly and contextually.
• Adapt experiences for different user types, company sizes, and goals.
• Collaborate deeply with product, engineering, and commercial stakeholders.
• Raise the quality bar by driving design systems, usability, and consistent visual standards.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience designing end-to-end SaaS products with complex data or analytics.
• Strong UX and information architecture skills — able to simplify intricate problems for non-technical users.
• Skilled in mapping user journeys and flows across multiple layers of information.
• Experience designing AI-enhanced interfaces or products with proactive and reactive states.
• Proficient in Figma (or similar) with strong attention to craft, consistency, and accessibility.
• Data-informed design mindset: able to use research, testing, and metrics to guide decisions.
• Experience maintaining or contributing to a design system.
• Collaborative approach with engineers and product managers; pragmatic and communicative.

Desirable Skills

• Background in analytics, finance, or operational SaaS design.
• Experience creating component libraries and understanding basic frontend principles.
• Familiarity with modern design frameworks (e.g. TailwindCSS, shadcn/ui, or similar).
• Experience designing multi-tenant or role-based interfaces for SMEs or enterprise clients.

Nice to have: Healthcare / HealthTech or Fintech experience
