Agile Coach

Are you passionate about fostering agility and driving real change? As an Agile Coach, you'll have the opportunity to shape how teams collaborate and deliver value, guiding them to adopt agile principles, Scrum practices, and a culture of continuous improvement. This is an exciting time to join us as we evolve and transition, helping our teams and organisation thrive in an agile environment.

This is a part time role of 22.5 hours per week and a fixed term of 12 months duration.

Location Commutable distance between Winchester / London

Total Package

  • Up to £83k full time equivalent

Role Purpose

Accountabilities

  • Enable teams to reach their goals through use of Scrum Values & Agile Principles Lead the adoption of courage, focus, commitment, respect, and openness across the organisation. You’ll inspire teams to embrace these values as they deliver high-quality work iteratively and incrementally.
  • Coach and mentor teams Guide product development and engineering teams on their agile journey, helping them deepen their understanding of Scrum accountabilities, events, and artefacts. Empower teams to improve their performance, collaboration, and ability to deliver value.
  • Help others take the Lead in Scrum Events Guide people to facilitate Scrum events such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives. Teaching people the intent of these events and then help them to execute.
  • Support Agile Transformation Play a pivotal role in our agile transformation by driving cultural change and embedding agile ways of working throughout the organisation. Your efforts will help create an environment
  • Coach teams to self-manage their Scrum events and processes, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth.
  • Be a True Leader in Agile ways of working Act as the subject matter expert on Scrum and Agile practices, continuously evolving and sharing your knowledge to help teams and stakeholders make the most of agile frameworks.
  • Be part of a community Bring your skills to the table and share with fellow coaches and colleagues, grow others and equally grow yourself through shared learning.

Skills

  • Strong Communicator and a Pragmatic Approach You are skilled at engaging with a variety of stakeholders from developers to executives, fostering an environment of openness and respect. You know how to encourage collaboration and ensure that everyone is aligned and empowered and you are not afraid of a challenge
  • Scrum & Kanban practitioner You have hands-on experience with Scrum and Kanban frameworks and are passionate about helping others succeed through agile ways of working.
  • Coaching & Mentorship Your strength lies in guiding teams and individuals to reach their potential, using your coaching skills to meet them where they are, unlock their abilities and support continuous learning.
  • Adaptability & Change Agent You have experience facilitating change and understand the challenges teams face when adopting new ways of working. Your adaptability helps you thrive in dynamic environments where continuous improvement is key.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of Agile frameworks, through evidence-based means such as portfolio of work, or certification such as PSM-II, ACSM, or similar.

Professional Scrum Trainer (PST) licence would be a nice to have but not mandatory

Knowledge & Experience

  • Knowledge of change management principles and techniques to facilitate change and support adoption across the organisation
  • One of more of certified agile practitioner roles such as Agile Coach, Product Owner and Scrum Master
