Website Developer Internship

Next Generation Sensors B.V.  makes mass spectrometry easily available anywhere and for everyone with the Handheld Molecular Contaminant Screener (HMCS). The portable mass spectrometer measures samples within minutes on the spot. With its user-friendly interface, the HMCS will be usable for everyone without prior training. We work in a small, yet growing team of various nationalities and disciplines. 

We are looking for a enthousiastic intern who is comfortable with both front and back-end programming. You will be working on the optimization of our upcoming website. The intern can start as soon as possible. In addition, the internship should be flexible, and easy to do besides your studies. 

Main responsibilities: 

• Closely coordinating with the R&D team to define the technical requirements. 
• Assist in the development and maintenance of websites and web applications and API's. 
• Writing of scalable, clean and organized code. 
• Troubleshooting and bug fixing. 
• Identifying and implement points of improvement regarding software efficiency. 
• Handle security and data protection settings. 
• Perform testing and quality assurance (QA) on websites and web applications. 

Requirements: 

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technolgy or similar 
• Basic knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML5, and JavaScript. 
• Knowledge of CSS; knowledge of C++ is a plus. 
• Proficiency with JavaScript framework Angular 
• Experience with WordPress or other content management systems (CMS). 
• Knowledge of Python. Familiarity with Electron framework and Node.js is a plus. 
• Experience with version control tools like Git is preferred. 
• Basic understanding of UI/UX design principles. 
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 
• Good verbal and oral communication in English. 
• Able to commute to our office to Maastricht.
