Head of Cybersecurity, Europe

As a Cybersecurity Area Leader, you will serve as the central cybersecurity lead for the European region, while also contributing to global cybersecurity governance, particularly in the areas of risk and compliance. You will ensure that customer expectations are met, global cybersecurity strategies are effectively localized and executed, and a thorough culture of cybersecurity resilience and awareness is championed across all business units in your area.

The position is located in Espoo, Finland and requires regular presence in the office.

In this position, you will:

  • Drive regional cybersecurity execution with business and customer impact in mind, aligning with global strategies and ensuring that local business needs, regulatory requirements, and threat landscapes are addressed.
  • You will interact regularly with KONE’s key customers to showcase our cybersecurity posture and address their security requirements.
  • Contribute to global cybersecurity governance and continuous improvement, particularly in the domains of risk and compliance, and ensure adoption of best practices and compliance with KONE’s cybersecurity controls.
  • Drive the implementation of global cybersecurity awareness and competence development programs within your area, fostering a proactive and informed security culture across all organizational levels and roles, including management, sales, and service technicians.
  • Represent your area in the Cybersecurity Extended Leadership Team, sharing insights, aligning priorities, and contributing to global cybersecurity strategy development – ensuring that customer needs and regional realities are reflected in enterprise-wide decisions.

This role is pivotal in translating global cybersecurity ambition into local impact – empowering customer-facing teams, mitigating risks, and ensuring that cybersecurity is embedded into the fabric of business operations. This is an execution-oriented role; you are a doer and able to lead through collaboration and influence, coaching, and collaboration.

To succeed in this position, you’ll have:

  • Proven track record in leading cybersecurity programs, including awareness, risk management, and product security initiatives across complex organizations.
  • Strategic and operational mindset, with the ability to translate global cybersecurity strategies into actionable regional execution plans.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across business units, IT, product teams, external partners, and customers.
  • Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance and risk management, including familiarity with global frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and IEC 62443 and regulations relevant to the area, e.g. NIS2 and CRA.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies and threats, including AI, IoT, and cloud security, and how they impact regional cybersecurity posture.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and multi-regional environment, with sensitivity to local business needs and regulatory landscapes.
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in information technology, engineering, cybersecurity, business administration or a related field.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, such as product management, sales management, or customer solution engineering, is considered an advantage.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GSLC, or equivalent are considered an advantage.
