BetterSkin is AI companion that helps women build a hyper-personalized healthy and beauty routine. Today women are overwhelmed by conflicting advice on skincare, supplements, and health. Plenty of products, advertisements, and influencer hype makes it difficult to know what to follow and how to build routine that benefit woman’s personal needs. Betterskin app provides a hyper-personalized routine by analyzing multiple aspects of a woman's lifestyle, including cosmetic use, supplement intake, and blood test results — to create a science-based hyper-personalized skincare and health routine.

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Co-founder to join the founding team and lead the technology side of the business. You will be the sole technical owner through MVP, launch, and our first fundraise. This is an opportunity to build the core of a data-first company set to disrupt the massive health and wellness market.

Your Key Responsibilities: Architect and Build V1: You will make the foundational decisions for our tech stack and architecture. Crucially, you will be hands-on, writing the code to build and ship the MVP yourself from concept to launch.

Develop the Full Stack: This is a full-stack role. You will build the mobile front-end, develop the backend services and data pipelines, and integrate all necessary components.

Implement the Core AI: You will design and implement the AI engine that turns user health data into personalized recommendations. This will involve heavy use of the OpenAI API, prompt engineering, and rule-based logic.

Ensure Security & Compliance: You will be responsible for implementing security best practices to handle sensitive user health data, laying the groundwork for future compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Frontend: React Native
• Backend: Node.js (TypeScript) and/or Python (FastAPI)
• AI/ML: Deep experience integrating third-party models, especially the OpenAI GPT-4 API. Expertise in prompt engineering is essential.
• Database & Cloud: PostgreSQL, AWS (or similar), and experience setting up CI/CD pipelines.
• API Integration: Skilled in integrating external services (e.g., Auth0, future integrations with Apple Health and lab test APIs).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a start-up environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Previous startup experience is a plus
