ProjectOn is an international company specializing in the e-commerce and payments industry, working together with all stakeholders, including banks, financial institutions, and international payment organizations. We offer a solution that allows businesses to implement modern payment tools ensuring effortless data collection, storage, and completion of transactions with just a few clicks.


We are currently looking for a IT Security Officer based in Riga, Latvia. In this role, you will implement security policies, manage access controls, assess risks, respond to incidents, lead cybersecurity awareness, support audits, and ensure business continuity with reliable data recovery.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement comprehensive information security policies, procedures, and standards;
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses across IT infrastructure, applications, and data;
  • Secure all components of payment infrastructure — including POS systems, payment gateways, APIs, and encryption services;
  • Monitor and analyze system logs, alerts, and network traffic for security events;
  • Respond to and investigate security incidents, including containment, eradication, and recovery;
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and implement preventive measures;
  • Oversee user access controls, authentication mechanisms, and privileged account management;
  • Ensure enforcement of least-privilege and role-based access policies;
  • Lead regular cybersecurity awareness programs for employees;
  • Conduct phishing simulations and other training exercises;
  • Prepare documentation and reports for internal and external security audits;
  • Maintain security certifications and ensure adherence to audit requirements;
  • Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans related to IT systems;
  • Ensure data backup and restoration procedures are secure and effective.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field;
  • Master’s degree or specialized cybersecurity education (preferred);
  • 3–7 years of experience in IT security, cybersecurity operations, security administrator;
  • Proven experience managing firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security;
  • Hands-on experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) preferred;
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, and network protocols;
  • Knowledge of encryption technologies, IAM, endpoint protection, and data loss prevention (DLP);
  • Understanding of secure coding practices and application security principles;
  • Experience with forensic analysis and incident response tools;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities;
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
