The Architectural Project Manager will support the architecture and development teams by ensuring seamless coordination among all project stakeholders (architects, structural, MEP, contractors, authorities etc.), managing project documentation, and helping deliver projects on time, to scope and quality, while ensuring compliance with local Dubai/UAE regulations. This role serves as a bridge between design and construction phases, with attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple moving parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all architectural drawings (concept, schematic, IFC, shop drawings, as-built) among internal design teams, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.
- Ensure architectural designs integrate correctly with structural, MEP, and other disciplines; identify interfacing issues early, raise RFIs, CVIs, etc., and follow up until resolved.
- Assist in the preparation of project deliverables: material submittals, technical packages, specification documents, authority submissions.
- Maintain up-to-date drawing delivery schedule and ensure timely submissions to document control / publishing.
- Support development of project execution plans, design management plans, QA/QC plans, submittal schedules, etc.
- Oversee and monitor changes in IFC / tender drawings; manage design abortive work claims due to changes.
- Liaise with local regulatory bodies (Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, etc.) to ensure designs meet authority requirements; support obtaining approvals.
- Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure shop drawings conform to the specifications, contract requirements, and design intent.
- Assist with Value Engineering, cost / quality trade-offs.
- Ensure processes for as-built / redline drawings are in place and accurate information is collected from site.
- Facilitate regular coordination meetings (design coordination, technical workshops) and track follow-ups.
- Coordinate with planning/project control teams to align drawing delivery with project schedule (programme).
- Maintain and update the project document control system, ensuring version control and proper filing of all architecture-related documentation.
- Provide technical support to site teams when design clarifications are required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field.
- Usually 5-8 years of experience in architectural coordination / design management / project coordination, ideally in the UAE or GCC region.
- Exposure to both design (consultant side) and execution / contracting is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit (BIM) and related tools; experience with model review, clash detection (Navisworks or similar) is advantageous.
- Understanding of UAE building codes, local authority regulations (Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DDA, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English; Arabic is a plus but not mandatory in many firms.
- Strong organizational, multitasking and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail, ability to foresee issues and proactively address them.
