Who We Are

Want to make an impact? Join our pack and come work (and play!) with us.

We believe everyone deserves the unconditional love of a pet—and at Rover, our mission is to make it easier to experience that love. Founded in 2011, the Rover app and website connect dog and cat parents with loving pet sitters and dog walkers in neighborhoods across the US, Canada, and Europe. We empower our community of trusted pet sitters and dog walkers to run their own pet care businesses on Rover with the tools and security of a global company to back them.

Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, we work closely with our teams in Barcelona, San Antonio, Spokane, and remote locations. We’ve got a reputation for being a great place to work, having been named among the 100 Best Companies to Work For in Seattle Business Magazine and Washington’s Best Workplaces in the Puget Sound Business Journal. We're an agile, fast-growing company, and our leadership comes from some of the world's most respected tech companies.

At Rover, our furry coworkers are just as important as our human ones—and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Along with making the joys of pet parenthood more accessible, we’re committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming community of pet people—and that starts with our employees.

Meet The Expansion Team

The Expansion team grows the Rover platform to support the diverse needs of pet parents. Our team focuses on efficiency and maximizing impact for effort, empowering engineers with significant agency in shaping the direction of innovative features from the ground up. We leverage a startup-like approach to rapidly introduce and refine new products, while still enjoying the backing and resources of an established technology organization.

What We’re Working On

The team is currently in the early stages of adding pet grooming to the Rover platform. By enabling Pet Parents to book directly with Groomers, we aim to solve many of the pain points associated with conventional Grooming services.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for a junior engineer who is eager to learn and grow as a professional, and is driven to help transform this ambitious project into reality. You will be joining a team of experienced engineers who will help you on this journey. Additionally, our team collaborates closely with product and design counterparts to shape the scope and behavior of our products. We highly value individuals with imaginative thinking and problem-solving abilities, who use efficient solutions to achieve exceptional results.

Our tech stack includes Python/Django, React, and React Native and is built using a relational database. However, no specific language or framework skills are required for this position and new grads will be considered. The ideal candidate will demonstrate comfort working across the stack, and adaptability to grow into areas where they are less experienced.

To succeed in this role, you should be self-motivated to learn and improve at your craft as an engineer, and seek to take on new responsibilities to expand your impact.

  • 0-4 years of experience as a professional software developer
  • Interest in full-stack development
