Our English Group, LLC is seeking a Freelance UX/UI Designer to help shape the look, feel, and flow of our digital learning experiences. This is a flexible, project-based role within a fast-growing education startup where design directly impacts how learners connect, grow, and thrive. The designer will collaborate across multiple departments to ensure a cohesive, intuitive, and inspiring user experience across Our English.

This position requires a designer who is comfortable balancing both UX and UI responsibilities: mapping user journeys, creating wireframes and prototypes, and then translating those ideas into elegant, functional interfaces. The ideal candidate will bring a strong design sensibility, technical proficiency, and a passion for accessibility and usability in education technology.

You will work with creative teams to develop consistent design systems and high-quality visuals that reflect the heart of Our English Group’s mission to make world-class English education accessible to all. A successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, combining creativity with systems thinking and a deep respect for user-centered design principles.

Key Responsibilities

·      Collaborate with creative teams to design and refine user experiences across Our English Group’s content.

·      Work within Our English Group’s established brand and design to enhance, extend, and maintain lesson templates and digital assets in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

·      Create and refine visual designs in Figma that align with project goals and established brand standards, ensuring a cohesive user experience across products.

·      Enhance and maintain designs, ensuring visual consistency, usability, and scalability across products.

·      Conduct user research and apply feedback to improve usability and engagement.

·      Create clear, intuitive screen templates that make learning experiences seamless and accessible.

·      Collaborate with developers and project leads to ensure designs are implemented accurately and effectively.

·      Manage multiple design projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining a high standard of quality.

·      Stay current on UX/UI best practices and emerging design tools to continuously improve processes and outcomes.

·      Source imagery as needed for Our English products and marketing.

·      Use Figma, Frame.io, and Adobe tools to create, share, and iterate on designs efficiently.

Qualifications

·      Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in UX and UI design, preferably within a digital education, creative, or startup environment.

·      Strong portfolio demonstrating ability to design intuitive, engaging, and accessible user experiences from concept through final delivery.

·      Proficiency in Figma, Frame.io, and Adobe Creative Suite, with the ability to quickly learn new tools as needed.

·      Experience developing and maintaining design systems that support scalability and brand consistency.

·      Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, responsive design, and accessibility standards.

·      Ability to translate complex ideas into clean, user-friendly visuals and interactive elements.

·      Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.

·      Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback and iteration.

·      Passion for education, design innovation, and the mission of expanding global access to English learning.

Physical Requirements

This is a remote, computer-based role. The position requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a desk, as well as regular use of a computer, mouse, and keyboard.

Additional Information

• This is a contracted position. All work is project based and does not constitute an offer of employment
• Access to required software will be provided by Our English Group, LLC
• Compensation and scope of work will be outlined in a separate contractor agreement
• Compensation will be processed through Rippling, with currency and payment preferences configured during contractor onboarding; this is a contract role with the potential to transition to a full-time position based on performance and project needs
•  Contractors are responsible for complying with all applicable tax, invoicing, and regulatory requirements in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates
• All work produced is the property of Our English Group, LLC and may not be used or distributed without written permission
• Selected applicants may be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement and/or independent contractor agreement prior to starting work
• Contractors may be required to complete basic data security training and adhere to Our English Group, LLC confidentiality and content protection standards
