What You'll Do:
- People & Team Leadership
- Lead, grow, and mentor a team of software and QA engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Promote psychological safety, trust, and collaboration within and across teams
- Provide coaching and performance feedback, support career development, and help team members achieve their professional goals
- Technical Direction & Execution
- Partner with Product, Architecture, and Design to define the teamʼs roadmap and translate vision into high-impact deliverables.
- Guide the teamʼs technical decisions and ensure sound engineering practices, including secure, scalable architecture and clean, maintainable code.
- Drive adoption of AI/ML technologies.
- Delivery & Operations
- Own delivery outcomes: set clear goals, establish metrics, and ensure the team meets commitments with quality and resilience.
- Collaborate with DevOps and QA to maintain a robust CI/CD pipeline and implement testing strategies for rapid and safe deployments.
- Champion agile methodologies and support iterative, value-driven development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with security, payments, and product stakeholders to align technical solutions with customer and business needs.
- Ensure compliance with data security and PCI-DSS requirements in all development efforts
Expertise You'll Bring:
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with 2+ years in engineering management.
- An AI-first mindset with the ability to coach engineers on AI-driven development principles, including the practical application of AI/ML.
- Proven experience architecting scalable, secure solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) using cloud-native architectures and serverless computing.
- Proficiency in Python, Ruby, Java, C#, or Node.js, with hands-on experience in API design and development and familiarity with Typescript, React, and Docker.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with a focus on optimizing performance.
- Proven track record of mentoring and providing technical leadership to engineering teams. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
