THE ROLE
Join our Core Platform Business Unit (CPBU) as a Senior MTS4 Engineer, where you'll be the technical backbone of our IO Tools team. You will architect and build the next generation of high-performance, scalable IO tooling that is critical to the quality and reliability of our industry-leading all-flash storage products. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role that offers significant technical ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, fundamentally shaping how we test and validate our core storage platform.
What You'll Do
- Architect and Implement Core Tools: Drive the design, implementation, and evolution of foundational IO tools for testing block, file, and object storage, focusing on performance, reliability, and maintainability in a modern software-defined storage environment.
- Modernize Tooling Infrastructure: Lead the effort to converge and modernize legacy tools into unified, scalable solutions, primarily leveraging Go and Python to boost test efficiency and developer productivity.
- Maximize Product Quality & Developer Efficiency: Proactively identify tooling gaps and deliver solutions that significantly improve test coverage, enable rapid diagnosis of complex failures, and ensure the overall robustness of our storage products before they reach the customer.
- Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Provide technical leadership through design and code reviews, setting a high bar for engineering quality, and actively mentoring junior team members to foster technical growth and excellence across the organization.
- Drive Strategic Vision: Contribute to the long-term vision and roadmap for IO tooling, ensuring our testing capabilities remain ahead of evolving product requirements, industry trends, and customer needs.
- Deep Systems Software Expertise: Proven history of success in software engineering with a strong background in complex systems software projects (e.g., Distributed Systems, Linux Kernel, Storage/Networking, Hypervisors, or similar high-performance infrastructure).
- Mastery of Go and Python: Advanced proficiency in both Go and Python, specifically applied to performance benchmarking, test automation, and building scalable, maintainable tooling.
- Independent Project Ownership: Demonstrated ability to independently drive complex, cross-domain technical projects from initial concept to successful delivery with minimal oversight, influencing technical decisions across teams.
- Technical Mentorship & Influence: Strong track record of mentoring engineers and providing clear technical direction, coupled with excellent communication skills to effectively influence and align stakeholders.
- Location Requirement: We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Bengaluru, India office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
- Pure Innovation: We celebrate those who think critically, like a challenge and aspire to be trailblazers.
- Pure Growth: We give you the space and support to grow along with us and to contribute to something meaningful. We have been Named Fortune's Best Large Workplaces in the Bay Area™, Fortune's Best Workplaces for Millennials™ and certified as a Great Place to Work®!
