Key accountabilities:
Performance and progress in the following areas will be the priorities for this position:
1.Manage and coordinate application development projects to ensure project completion within defined schedules and budgets, in accordance with business requirements, and to BDO Global IT standards.
2.Take ownership for and effectively apply BDO’s product methodology and enforce robust project standards to application development projects and product releases.
3.Development and management of program and project plans, including progress reviews and milestone achievement on a timely basis for reporting and tracking purposes.
4.Helping the team(s) meet goals and commitments, continuously improve performance, and foster the collaboration (scheduling & facilitating meetings and communications) necessary to help identify and eliminate impediments to deliver business value
5.Helping to understand and teach Scrum, Agile and Lean practices, supporting and educating multiple Product/Service Owners, especially with respect to maintaining the backlog.
6.Monitoring and controlling work in progress for technical adequacy and business acceptance, reporting of progress, evaluating agile performance metrics and leading various initiatives as assigned.
7.Providing active assistance to meet schedules and/or to resolve complex technical or customer requirements.
8.Establishing metrics and monitoring project progress to ensure scope compliance, the meeting of project goals and objectives and the reporting of progress to appropriate levels of management.
9.Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
10.Collaborate with the QA test team(s), ensuring the solution is tested adequately to fulfil business, technical and quality requirements.
11.Work with development management, product management, product owners, and business owners (including: key stakeholders) to help assure strategy and executive alignment;
12.In conjunction with service desk personnel, assist with the investigation and resolution of project-related incidents and service requests.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills:
- Tertiary qualifications required (e.g. University IT degree), and vendor-aligned technical qualifications in a Project Management discipline (e.g. PMI CAPM/PMP or PRINCE2 Foundation/Practitioner)
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification.
- 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile software development environment.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum/Lean principles and practices, and experience applying them in practice.
- Experience working with multiple third-party vendors and partners to deliver complex software development projects
- Experience transitioning application solutions into operational environments
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to manage and resolve conflicts and issues.
- Available to work flexible hours (project teams may span time zones); with strong collaboration, communication and business relationship skills
- Strong planning and organisation skills as the role involves communicating with varying levels of team members across business stakeholders (technology and management)
