Role Overview

ONEiO is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal and regulatory support across our global SaaS operations. This role bridges legal expertise and business practicality—ensuring our contractual frameworks and compliance processes enable us to operate safely and efficiently while supporting our continued growth.

You'll take ownership of our well-established legal function and evolve it to meet the demands of our expanding business. As our dedicated legal expert, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams and external advisors to structure deals, manage risk, and build trust with enterprise customers across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Contracts & Legal Advisory (60%)

  • Draft, review, and negotiate ONEiO customer, partner, and supplier agreements
  • Maintain and evolve our standard contract templates (Master Terms, DPA, VAR/Agency, Service Terms)
  • Support business teams in contractual risk assessment and negotiations
  • Enable faster deal cycles through efficient contracting practices
  • Provide legal input on financial and employment agreements where needed

Regulatory Compliance (20%)

  • Monitor, interpret, and operationalize EU digital regulations
  • Collaborate with security and delivery teams to ensure compliance in processes and documentation
  • Advise on privacy and data protection (GDPR) and maintain company records of processing activities
  • Ensure proactive readiness for various regulatory frameworks

Risk Management & Governance (10%)

  • Act as compliance liaison for business continuity, insurance, and ISO 27001 frameworks
  • Contribute to due diligence processes, supplier evaluations, and policy drafting
  • Provide input to leadership on regulatory impact and mitigation strategies

Corporate Administration (10%)

  • Assist in corporate filings, shareholder and board documentation, and option plan management
  • Maintain the company's contract database (ContractSafe) and support internal audits

What We're Looking For

  • Law degree obtained in Europe and relevant legal qualification
  • 3-7 years of legal experience in SaaS, technology, or compliance context
  • Solid knowledge of EU's digital regulations (NIS2, DORA, GDPR)
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity, data protection, and risk management principles
  • Strong understanding of SaaS and cloud-based business models
  • Pragmatic business mindset — capable of balancing compliance with commercial goals
  • Excellent communication skills — able to translate legal topics into business language
  • Fluent in English and Finnish (working languages); German is a plus
  • High integrity, independence, and proactive approach in a fast-moving environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with managed service business models
  • Experience in or with fast-growing scale-ups or venture-backed companies
  • Understanding of procurement processes and public sector contracting
  • Experience with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC2)
  • Prior collaboration with regulators and external counsels
