Location: Genoa, Italy (3 days on-site, 2 remote)
Duration: 6β12 months (extension possible)
Rate: Negotiable daily rate

About the Role:
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with Kubernetes expertise to support the design, deployment, and optimisation of containerised applications within a leading international technology company. This hands-on freelance role combines on-site collaboration in Genoa with the flexibility of remote work.
You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure robust, scalable, and high-performing Kubernetes environments while contributing to the continuous improvement of deployment processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess applications and services for deployment, analysing architecture, dependencies, and resource requirements (CPU, memory, storage).
- Design and implement Kubernetes cluster architectures, including nodes, networking, storage, and security configurations.
- Containerise applications (using Docker or equivalent technologies) and prepare them for Kubernetes deployment.
- Deploy and configure applications in Kubernetes clusters, supporting testing and validation.
- Optimise performance, adjust resource allocations, and implement Kubernetes best practices.
- Monitor environments and troubleshoot post-release issues to maintain service reliability.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or Kubernetes System Administrator.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker containerisation.
- Hands-on experience with cluster deployment, configuration, and management (on-premise or cloud: EKS, AKS, GKE).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Linux systems administration.
- Excellent communication skills in Italian.
- Availability for 3 days per week on-site in Genoa.
