Location: Genoa, Italy (3 days on-site, 2 remote)

Duration: 6–12 months (extension possible)

About the Role:

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with Kubernetes expertise to support the design, deployment, and optimisation of containerised applications within a leading international technology company. This hands-on freelance role combines on-site collaboration in Genoa with the flexibility of remote work.

You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure robust, scalable, and high-performing Kubernetes environments while contributing to the continuous improvement of deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess applications and services for deployment, analysing architecture, dependencies, and resource requirements (CPU, memory, storage).
• Design and implement Kubernetes cluster architectures, including nodes, networking, storage, and security configurations.
• Containerise applications (using Docker or equivalent technologies) and prepare them for Kubernetes deployment.
• Deploy and configure applications in Kubernetes clusters, supporting testing and validation.
• Optimise performance, adjust resource allocations, and implement Kubernetes best practices.
• Monitor environments and troubleshoot post-release issues to maintain service reliability.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or Kubernetes System Administrator.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker containerisation.
• Hands-on experience with cluster deployment, configuration, and management (on-premise or cloud: EKS, AKS, GKE).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Linux systems administration.
• Excellent communication skills in Italian.
• Availability for 3 days per week on-site in Genoa.
