CYBERSECURITY ENGINEER – PROJECT WITHIN A EUROPEAN ORGANIZATION

A European organization is seeking to onboard a Cybersecurity Engineer with confirmed experience to support a strategic project related to the management of interconnection and information security agreements. The service will be delivered on-site in Luxembourg, within a highly regulated institutional environment focused on protecting classified communication systems.


ROLE OBJECTIVES

The selected professional will be responsible for:

  • Managing the authorization process for external interconnections (ISA), including request analysis, IT security plan review, and non-compliance handling.
  • Conducting security inspections of contractors and external systems to ensure compliance with defined security measures.
  • Participating in service improvement initiatives, aligning processes with European standards and developments in cybersecurity.
  • Maintaining up-to-date technical documentation and statistics related to the ISA service.


MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in IT or a related field.
  • Confirmed experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer (minimum 5 years in similar roles).
  • In-depth knowledge of network communications (OSI layers 2 to 5) and security protocols such as MACSec, IPSec, TLS/SSL.
  • Strong understanding of information security principles and international standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Experience in IT security compliance management.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to produce clear and structured technical documentation.
  • Proactive mindset, autonomy, and ability to prioritize tasks in demanding environments.
  • Valid SECRET UE/EU SECRET security clearance or in the process of obtaining it (mandatory).
  • Open to EU citizens only.


DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in security projects within European or international institutions.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies in workplace and network security.
  • Knowledge of European Commission security policies.
  • Ability to present technical results to non-technical audiences (e.g., management, internal clients).

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • On-site presence required in Luxembourg, 4 days per week.
