You and your future

During the Early Career Program at Rabobank you work on your personal and technical development next to your junior position at our bank. The early career program consist of a personal development day once every quarter and a focus on technical improvement. You develop talents you didn’t know you had and you are given the space to discover for yourself what you are good at and what you like. And then? Everything you learn can immediately be put into practice, because from the start you will work in your starter position as a Junior Frontend DevOps Engineer. Under the guidance of experienced colleagues, you will become a specialist in your field in no time.

You design, develop and maintain a key element in the payments infrastructure serving businesses and consumers. As a Junior Frontend Developer you create the services that merchants need to operate in a highly dynamic payments world. Merchants who want provide their customers the smoothest of payment experiences, whether it is in their web shops or their shops downtown or in the mall. Merchants that need instant insight in their business at any moment, and be able to adapt their payments services quickly. You work in a DevOps team, you create and run it together.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new frontend features for our merchants in line with architecture principles, improving the application day by day
  • Maintain the application, keeping it fit for tomorrow, next month, next year and beyond.
  • Be the best DevOps team member your fellow team members could wish for. Share, care, guide and support each other. Grow as engineering professional.

Your development as a young professional

Within this program, you will have the opportunity to get to know yourself, the field, and Rabobank. The program lasts a total of 18 months. You will start the program in a junior position within one team, participate in workshops and training modules with other juniors, and quickly gain practical experience. Together with others, there is room for creativity and initiative to organize events, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing sessions. This way, we continuously improve the program and ourselves! You will easily build a large and valuable network within the bank.

Your development as a starter

In the Rabobank Early Career Program IT, you will work on your personal development for 18 months. This includes personal leadership, relevant skills, and various themes such as sustainability, as well as learning how a bank operates. In addition to personal development, you will choose one of the IT tracks that suits you. In these tracks, you will focus more on the content of your role. You will meet fellow starters from different departments weekly, and on other days you will work within your own team/squad. Through business challenges and assignments, you will get to know a large part of the bank.

You and your talent

  • a bachelor or master degree, or an equivalent working / thinking level
  • You have experience in working with modern frontend libraries like Angular (or Vue.js and Reactj.s) and you can work with a UX designer to build intuitive, responsive and accessible user interfaces experience with web based and mobile app building
  • excellent proficiency in English, and willing to learn and use Dutch in the work you do.
  • passion for teamwork, eagerness to speak up and share your thoughts, and willingness to embrace your mistakes and learn from them
  • a good sense of humour to keep us all smiling through any challenges we may face
