Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are seeking an Intake Coordinator to join our team!


What You Will Do

Reporting to the Manager of the Intake and Early Resolution Office (IERO), the Intake Coordinator will be the first point of contact for all inquiries and complaints directed to the Human Rights and Investigations Department (HRID). The Intake Coordinator will be responsible for reviewing and triaging complaints within established timelines, assigning complaints to Intake and Early Resolution Officers, and updating the records management system daily. . This includes reviewing highly confidential and sensitive information that alleges contraventions of the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, the Criminal Code of Canada, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Community Safety and Policing Act, as well as other related legislation and TTC Corporate Policies.


The role will also maintain the section database by ensuring that complaints and investigations are properly recorded, tracked and monitored. This role will be responsible for data integrity in the HRID case management systems, and to collate data and statistics monthly.


What Qualifications Do You Bring?

  • Completion of a post-secondary education in a related field or relevant discipline (e.g. human rights, diversity, human resources, customer service, social services), or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Two years in high volume case management / complaint management.
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Anti-Racism Act, the Mental Health Act, the Provincial Offences Act, the Liquor License Act, Trespass to Property Act, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario’s procedures, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and other relevant federal, provincial, and municipal legislation.
  • Must possess strong listening, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and be comfortable dealing with senior management throughout the organization.
  • Experience in managing confidential and sensitive information and documents.
  • Excellent ability to handle interactions that are highly stressful, sensitive, and emotional, and deal with highly confidential and sensitive information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Must be detail-oriented; possess good organizational and problem-solving abilities and be able to handle a fast-paced and high-volume workload with a minimum of direction.
  • Strong PC skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and case management databases including SharePoint, MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Power BI, XFire, etc.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, manage competing priorities and be able to handle confrontational issues and emotionally charged situations.
