Job Purpose
Responsible for planning, executing, monitoring and close-out of all construction activities by coordinating interdepartmental efforts and mobilizing internal and external resources to ensure safe and timely completion of projects in compliance the Company’s policies and standards.
Key Accountabilities
People Management
- Supervise the activities and work performed by the field coordinators to ensure that it is carried out in an efficient and effective manner in line with the departmental policies and procedures.
Construction Engineering and Management
- Provide technical assistance in the form of constructability review and bid evaluation with Project
- Engineering section.
- Coordinate efforts with other departments and contractors, monitor progress of construction activities and manage the team of field coordinators in order to achieve safe and timely execution of projects.
- Organize risk assessment reviews for execution of big projects to ensure safety.
- Continually monitor changing field conditions and take corrective actions that require a high level of sound judgment, capable of concurrent execution of multiple projects.
- Act as project department coordinator during the preparation phase to provide assistance for planned shutdowns and execute all projects safely during turnarounds.
- Ensure Chevron Project Development and Execution Process (CPDEP) process is followed for construction activities and chevron engineering standards are used for modifications.
- Support Projects to close Operational Excellence action items as assigned.

Contractors’ Performance Management
- Ensure contractors’ compliance with company procedures by approving method statements, facilitating job safety analyses (JSAs), reviewing critical lift plans, and overseeing contractors’ activities to ensure safe execution of projects.
- Provide feedback to project engineers on completion of work so that contractors’ payments are released.
- Provide input to Contracts Section on variations to project design scope.
- Provide contractor man-hours to safety section on monthly basis for RIR calculation.
- Perform quarterly contractor performance evaluation and send feedback to Contracts Section.
- Processing, approval, and issuance of company access badges and RLIC gate passes to contractors.
Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of departmental systems, policies, processes, and practices taking into account ‘international leading practices’ in order to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
- Provide critical input to support the development of Project Engineering Section’s systems, policies, processes, and procedures in order to meet business requirements.
- Ensure team members comply with all Project Engineering Section’s policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across Project Engineering Section to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality products/services.
- Be a part of Summer of Safety (SOS) team and ensure all safety precautions are being taken care by the contractors during this period.
Reporting
- Prepare relative reports in a timely and accurate manner in order to meet the departmental requirements, policies, and standards.
- Provide construction updates of major projects for management reports and GRT meetings.
Qatarization
- Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is applicable to expatriate employees only.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering.
Experience
Required: 5-7 years of experience in the O&G Industry.
Preferred: Similar experience in Petrochemicals Industry.
