About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Senior React Developer / Tech Lead to join a major digital transformation programme for a leading global brand. In this role, you will combine technical leadership with hands-on development, guiding the Front End engineering workstream while also contributing to Back End development using Java Spring Boot microservices. You will work closely with client stakeholders from the discovery phase through delivery, shaping technical direction and delivering high-quality web applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical discovery and delivery of Front End solutions using React.js, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Develop and integrate Java Spring Boot microservices, ensuring seamless interaction with Front End components.
• Define architecture, coding standards, and best practices across Front End and microservices layers.
• Collaborate with design, UX, and Back End teams to deliver performant, high-quality web applications.
• Mentor and guide developers, conduct code reviews, and contribute to technical planning and estimation.
• Engage directly with stakeholders to clarify requirements and influence the technical roadmap.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience with React.js, TypeScript, Redux, and component-driven development.
• Hands-on experience with Java Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and web standards.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs between React Front End and Java Back End.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and performance optimisation skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement experience in agile, enterprise-scale environments.

Desirable / Nice to Have

• Experience with Next.js or Node.js.
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS or Azure).
• Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with accessibility and performance optimisation for large-scale applications.
