You will also provide technical guidance to other engineers.
The team will rely on you to:
- Architect, write, and test embedded firmware and software solutions for a variety of products, including next-generation systems and cloud processing algorithms.
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, reviewing schematics and debugging hardware issues on prototypes.
- Ensure compliance with documented software processes and procedures throughout the lifecycle, including relevant quality standards
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to other engineers, fostering a continuous improvement culture.
- Lead and contribute to software planning, requirements, architecture, design, and technical reviews.
- Work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, consulting with clients and partners on system design and delivery.
Ideally you have:
- 5+ years of experience in firmware and embedded engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Embedded C/C++ and Python.
- A Bachelor's degree in Software, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in firmware engineering and embedded systems development.
- Familiarity with hardware-software integration and debugging techniques.
- Experience with embedded microcontrollers and RTOS (e.g., STM32, nRF5, FreeRTOS, Zephyr).
- Knowledge of software architecture and design as it relates to systems engineering.
Bonus points if you also have:
- Experience with wireless communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, WiFi, LoRa, LTE).
- Experience developing medical devices to standards like IEC 62304 and ISO 13485.
- Experience with Embedded Linux.
- Experience with hardware/electronics design and development
- Experience working directly with clients and across hybrid project teams.
