Monitoring Engineer - Remote

At Zyte, our mission is to facilitate access to web data and transform intricate data challenges into elegant solutions. Our Monitoring Team is integral to ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of our extensive data collection systems.

We are seeking a technically proficient Monitoring Engineer to analyze system alerts, identify and investigate issues within our web crawlers, and support the continuous automation and optimization of our monitoring workflows.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret performance alerts originating from our proprietary crawling infrastructure (success rates, error logs, volumes and latency)
• Investigate anomalies, determine root causes, and escalate actionable issues to development teams
• Automate monitoring processes utilizing Python or comparable scripting languages
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance system observability and the accuracy of alerting mechanisms
  
  

Qualifications

• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Proficiency in Python (or a similar scripting language) for workflow automation and monitoring platforms
• Familiarity with networking concepts (IPs, proxies, connectivity, HTTP communication)
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts — especially in anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, or automation
• Comfortable working within distributed teams across multiple time zones
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

• Experience with web scraping tools such as Scrapy or Spidermon is advantageous
