We are seeking a talented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position will work closely with the Technical Product Management and Business Intelligence team, contributing to InsCipher’s data-driven and AI-focused platform initiatives — including integrations, APIs, and scalable architecture solutions. As a QA Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will be responsible for performing both manual testing and optionally, automated testing using Cypress.io. Your attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to think critically will be essential in identifying and resolving issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough manual testing of Cloud-based software applications, ensuring the highest quality and usability.
- Focus testing efforts on data integrations, APIs, and AI-driven features within InsCipher’s SaaS platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and designers, to understand project requirements and provide valuable input.
- Partner closely with the Technical Product Manager and engineering teams to validate functionality and performance across integrations and data systems.
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts to verify software functionality, system performance, and user experience.
- Identify and report software defects and track them to resolution using the Jira bug-tracking system.
- Participate in test strategy development and test design reviews and contribute to improving the QA process overall.
- Support alignment between QA processes and the broader product roadmap — ensuring test coverage for API workflows, AI-based automation, and data pipelines.
- Perform regression testing to validate bug fixes and ensure the stability of the software.
- Continuously monitor and enhance the effectiveness of the QA processes to meet industry standards and best practices.
- Stay current with the latest testing tools, techniques, and trends and proactively recommend improvements to existing processes.
- Contribute insights related to AI testing, data validation, and intelligent automation to enhance product reliability.
Requirements:
- Work experience as a quality assurance engineer or in a similar role.
- Good knowledge of software (QA) methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
- Experience in manual testing, including test case design, execution, and defect tracking.
- Proficiency in using bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) to document and manage software defects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively with product managers, data engineers, and developers to ensure product quality aligns with technical and business objectives.
- Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently and in a team environment.
Skills (Optional):
- Experience with test automation using Cypress or similar frameworks.
- Knowledge of JavaScript or other programming languages for test automation.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes.
- Experience validating automated pipelines that connect APIs, data systems, and AI-enabled components.
- Experience with API testing using tools like Postman or similar.
- Understanding of performance testing and security testing concepts.
- Knowledge of data accuracy validation, API performance benchmarking, and AI model output testing is a plus.
