Senior Systems Accountant – Global Investment Firm | Amsterdam (Hybrid)

Altum Consulting are currently partnering with a high-profile global investment organisation that is looking to hire an experienced Data Analyst into their Amsterdam office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a truly international finance environment where technology, systems, and process excellence are at the heart of operations.

Sitting within the Support & Control team, this position plays a key role in enhancing, maintaining and optimising accounting systems used across the group. The team is responsible for ensuring the integrity of data, delivering accurate reporting, and driving continuous improvement across financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of system configuration, upgrades, and maintenance, ensuring accuracy and compliance across multiple investment entities and fund structures.
• Act as a super-user for core accounting systems, executing SQL queries, managing data feeds, and implementing automation to improve efficiency and data quality.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, and Technology teams to identify process improvements and deliver innovative system solutions.
• Develop and automate reports, analytics, and control checks to enhance transparency and data integrity.
• Contribute to projects and change initiatives, ensuring smooth delivery and effective change management across global teams.
• Coach and train junior colleagues on system usage and best practices, fostering a culture of data excellence.

About You:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
• At least 4+ years’ experience in a finance systems or systems accounting role.
• Advanced knowledge of VBA, SQL and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Access Databases, Crystal Reports, or similar reporting tools is highly desirable.
• A strong understanding of accounting principles and data governance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Previous experience in private equity, investment management or broader financial services is highly advantageous.
