As a Senior Android Automotive Engineer at Ultra Group, based in Gothenburg, you will lead the development and implementation of complex Android software solutions for automotive applications. This senior role entails significant responsibilities, including high-level decision-making, mentoring junior staff, and steering the direction of projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and client needs.
Key QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Over 5 years of extensive experience in Android development, embedded systems, and automotive software. Expertise in Android SDK, Java, Kotlin, C++, and a deep understanding of advanced automotive systems and technologies. Strong experience with Android Automotive OS and Vehicle Hardware Abstraction Layer (VHAL) development and integration. Proficiency in QNX for automotive applications. Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers. Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills. In-depth knowledge of international automotive regulations and cybersecurity principles in automotive systems. A strategic thinker with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and management of complex Android applications for automotive systems. Develop and maintain VHAL implementations and native automotive services using C++. Work with QNX-based systems and integrate them with Android Automotive platforms. Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Make strategic decisions regarding software design and architecture. Interface with clients and stakeholders, understanding their needs and ensuring that projects meet their requirements. Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technological advancements, integrating them into projects and processes.
Additional QualificationsExperience in automotive system architecture. Familiarity with vehicle networking and communication protocols (LIN, MOST, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet). Hands-on experience with Android NDK and JNI for native C++ integration. Knowledge of HIDL/AIDL interfaces for hardware abstraction layers. Experience with QNX Neutrino, including IPC mechanisms and resource management. Understanding of cybersecurity principles in automotive systems. Awareness of international automotive regulations and compliance. Experience with automotive-specific development tools. Multilingual capabilities, if applicable. Customer-focused approach and project management skills.
