Steele Charles are delighted to have been reengaged by a leading UK ticketing and event technology business on this, the appointment of a PHP Developer to join their Edinburgh-based team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the growth of a platform that empowers event organisers and content creators to deliver unforgettable experiences to fans across the UK and internationally.
You will join a fast-growing, innovative, and collaborative team, supporting some of the most renowned live events while helping to challenge and transform the ticketing industry.
The Role
As a PHP Developer, you will be responsible for developing high-quality, maintainable code that drives the platform. Working alongside talented developers, UX designers, and QA engineers, you will:
- Write clean, efficient PHP code and maintain high coding standards
- Design and optimise MySQL database schemas
- Develop unit and behavioural tests to ensure platform reliability
- Collaborate on sprint planning, feature delivery, and problem-solving
- Participate in Level 2 support rotation to understand real-world user experience
- Contribute to the team culture through knowledge sharing and innovation
About You
- Minimum 3 years’ PHP development experience (experience with multiple frameworks preferred)
- Strong experience with large-scale MySQL databases
- Proficient with Git (GitLab experience a plus)
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative approach
- Passionate about creating innovative products and working in a fast-paced environment
The Offer
- Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Bonus: Discretionary performance-based annual bonus
- Equity: Invitation to employee stock options scheme (after 12 months’ service)
- Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid - 2 days on-site, 3 days WFH)
