Job Title: Android Developer

Location: United States or Canada (Remote)

Contract: 3-month contract with IMMEDIATE joining

Role Summary:

We’re seeking an experienced Android Developer to join our team supporting Google’s Application Modernization (AppMod) initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in cloud-based development environments, DevOps best practices, and Google Cloud tools to help drive engineering excellence and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and optimize solutions leveraging Google Cloud Workstations, Google Code Assist Enterprise, and other Google Cloud development tools.
• Apply DORA research principles and metrics to evaluate and enhance software delivery performance.
• Contribute to the architecture and evaluation of ABFS (Android Build Farm System) and Cuttlefish environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve developer productivity, code quality, and release velocity.
• Work with Android Studio and related IDEs to support cloud-based application development workflows.
• Provide technical leadership and consultation on modern development frameworks, CI/CD automation, and DevOps practices.

Basic Qualifications (BQs)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or equivalent experience.
• Proven hands-on experience with Google Code Assist Enterprise.
• Strong expertise with Google Cloud Workstations and IDE integrations (such as Android Studio).
• Familiarity with DORA metrics, capabilities, and research-driven performance improvements.
• Experience designing and architecting solutions for ABFS and Cuttlefish environments.
• Solid understanding of cloud-based development environments, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization.

Nice to Have:

• Prior experience working with ABFS and Cuttlefish at scale.
• Experience contributing to developer tooling, build systems, or internal productivity platforms.
