Location - This role is in-person at North Campus, Edmonton.
Position Summary
The Research Assistant supports advanced neuroimaging projects focused on functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). The role includes preprocessing and analysis of fMRI data, assisting with the development and application of brain-decoding methods, and contributing analyses and figures to research manuscripts. The assistant also helps design and implement fMRI experiments, including immersive 3D virtual reality paradigms developed in Unity, and assists with participant recruitment and scanning sessions. This position requires a strong technical background in neuroimaging, deep learning, programming, and graphics/VR development.

- The minimum requirements are a BSc. A MSc degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong background in neuroimaging analysis (fMRI preprocessing, machine learning, decoding methods).
- Proficiency in programming languages (Python, MATLAB, C#) and use of Linux/HPC environments.
- Experience with Unity game engine, graphics programming, and VR hardware/software integration.
- Familiarity with machine learning and deep learning methods applied to brain data.
- Knowledge of research ethics, human participant handling, and MRI safety procedures.
